In a post on AT&T’s ‘Innovation Space’ blog, Bill Smith, president of network operations, has announced that the US telecoms giant has notched up 27 million voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) subscribers, a figure he describes as ‘more than any other US carrier’. In terms of network coverage, Smith notes that the VoLTE network is now available to 295 million US citizens, adding: ‘We’re rolling out VoLTE market-by-market and testing each market before launching. This gives customers the best possible experience’. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, AT&T switched on its VoLTE network in May 2014.
