Dawiyat Integrated a Saudi telecommunications & information technology company, a subsidiary of the Saudi Electricity Company and a leading provider of wholesale telecommunication infrastructure services in the Kingdom, has announced that it has obtained a license to establish “cable landing stations and international cable capacities” from the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST). This license allows Dawiyat to build, operate, and maintain cable landing stations (CLS) and provide international connectivity to national and international telecom operators, hyperscalers and content providers.
Based on its previously announced investments of $2.6 billion (SAR 9.8 billion) in LEAP 2023 in Riyadh, this acquisition represents a significant strategic step towards Dawiyat Company’s commitment to developing the telecommunications industry and enhancing the digital economy in the Kingdom. It will expand and enable the digital infrastructure and digital services to meet the increasing demand for reliable high-speed internet services.
In response, Wael bin Ali Al-Ghamdi, the CEO of Dawiyat Company, affirmed that obtaining this license will enable Dawiyat to play a crucial role in developing the telecommunications infrastructure in the Kingdom, supporting the growth of the digital economy, and providing seamless national and international connectivity.
