European data centers’ operator DEAC is expanding its partners DC network by adding Data Center Logistics (DLC) data centers in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Besides new location, DEAC has two own 2.3MW and 0.4MW data centers in Riga, Latvia. The third data center with 4MW and additional 400 racks is under construction. Partnerships with locations in Moscow, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Kiev and Amsterdam were established over the years. Close geographical location of Riga and Vilnius allows building together Baltic region level IT infrastructure for power and capacity demanding customers.
“The proximity of major internet backbones, placement in between largest IX hubs of Frankfurt, Helsinki and Moscow, and the high level of overall IT development in the Baltic region. Those factors along with DC network expansion, allow two Baltic Data Center operators to provide data center and data transmission services that are more competitive in the region and attract global players that are interested in a stable and powerful environment for IT development of regional projects. With direct and fast multi x10Gbit/s connections, it is possible to offer versatile IT solutions and reliable cloud or colocation infrastructure for Edge computing, backup and risk diversification in North and Central Europe as well as in Russia and CIS countries,” comments Andris Gailitis, DEAC CEO.
In 2020, Latvian DEAC and Lithuanian DLC became part of Quaero Capital. “We have attracted significant investments for the development of our own and our customers’ IT infrastructure. This means that by implementing the data center solutions ranging from colocation and hosting to any complexity cloud and data network solutions, you will be able to take advantage of them immediately, and benefit from choice of both, OPEX or CAPEX cost models”, says Andris Gailitis.
Meanwhile, DEAC has also started to expand data center “Riga” and improve its energy efficiency. The planned investments of one million Euros this year to improve PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) ratio and prepare data center for Europe’s “climate-neutral” requirements by 2030. Baltic region is rich with renewable energy resources.
