Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier announces the transition of veteran executive Rolf Nafziger to a new position within the Deutsche Telekom organization. Nafziger, who currently oversees DT’s renowned global wholesale unit will assume the role of Executive Advisor within Deutsche Telekom’s Strategy Consulting department as of June 1, 2024.
Nafziger has been an integral member of Deutsche Telekom since joining the company in 2000. Over the last 10 years, he has played a pivotal part in the success of the company’s wholesale arm, contributing significantly to innovations that have had a transformative impact on the industry. His marketplace insights have earned him widespread recognition as a driving force for international digital advancements.

Throughout his career, Nafziger held several key stations within the company, including senior roles in the areas of marketing, international sales, strategic alignment, and inflight connectivity. Notable achievements include spearheading major GLF projects focused on critical IoT service-level agreements and 5G SA roaming. Additionally, he has led initiatives exploring the application of blockchain technology and has supported the foundation of the CAMARA initiative to establish a standard for network APIs.
Nafziger said he has “been honored to play a part in the evolution of the telco wholesale business from traditional models to dynamic environments enabling real-time connectivity. I now eagerly anticipate the opportunity to spearhead advancements and foster growth across the entire communications sector.”
Dimitrios Rizoulis, currently responsible for B2B Strategy, Transformation, and Marketing (GK-SE) at Telekom Geschäftskunden GmbH, will take over responsibility for Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier, effective June 1, 2024. He brings over 15 years of experience in the telco business, including roles in Strategic Planning and Transformation at OTE Group and Group Strategy and Transformation at DT Headquarters. Dimitrios’ leadership in driving digital telco strategy in Germany positions him well to lead the development of DT’s International Wholesale Business.
